Excellent again Jebediehard! Took a minute for the last one. We didn't have any of those in the town where I was born.

Good one! I especially appreciated #16. I used to swap stories with a man who sailed the sea.

I've got 16, no problem, but as a non-golfer, I'm stuck on 6.. Off to google I go... Maybe I'll get lucky..
EDIT: Found the answer here: http://www.worldgolf.com/wglibrary/reference/di...

I learned #8 as having three more letters at the beginning of the word (and not the ones referenced in the final clue). For anyone else stuck on it, chop off the first three letters and try again.

Very fun, Jeb. Thanks
[12] [15] perhaps it's more accurate to say that last clue not a "common noun".

[18] Thanks for the salt. I was stuck on that one for hours. Never realized that the thick black bar in #8 was a minus sign...

I recognized the uniform in #16 immediatly because I have two boys serving in this branch of the military. That color should be dress blue!

[24] - that is funny, I actually got the answer to #8 using a dictionary and finding the only word that fit, but I had no idea of how it related to the clue. Now after seeing your comment I understand why it is the right word!
Still have not got #16 though - If anyone can add any salt to that which has already been liberally sprinkled I would appreciate it. Is it a single word or a phrase/compound word? I can't imagine a word so long.
Edit:
Finally got it - thanks to the wheelbarrow full of salt from [25], [28] & [32]. Not to mention one oblique tangagram...
My brain cells are obviously rusty, I loved that number growing up.

Wife figured it out just as I did, she just said it first. It's all in the mind you know.

[26] Two words. A rather peculiar place to call one's home perhaps, but a certain collective does anyway.

[18][24] It's ironic that the MINUS sign was not that clear, don't you think.

[22] Thanks, that got me over the top.
[17] As for #6, I play golf and I had to use your link to figure out what they were doing. Maybe that's why I play the way I do.....

[26] As [28] mentions, #16 is two words.
If all else fails, let clue #14 guide you...
