I have the same problem now and again. Don't know why it happens. I have the error message pop up whenever I refresh the page or link to another spot on Tanga.
I asked the same question you did. Two tanganites TG'd me that it happens to them as well. The only way to rid yourself of it is to close down your browser and start over.
I just close the entire browsing session to save all the tabs. When I restart I get them all back without that annoying pop up calendardateselect error.

Yes, I'm sort of glad it's not just me...
but No, closing browser, etc has no effect. I've only encountered it here at Tanga. I always close the browser when I walk away - so every session is new ... with that persistent error message.

No errors on Ubuntu, Firefox 3 Beta 5.
Tanga is the only place I encounter it also. On firefox. Haven't used IE for some time now.
[4] I too have encountered this problem only on the Tanga site. It's happened to me with both IE7 and Firefox 3.0.3. Closing and restarting the browser has always worked for me.

I've encountered it on and off for at least 6 months, if not longer. And, yes, only on Tanga. Closing and restarting does not always clear it. Rebooting the computer does not always clear it. Sometimes it clears itself when the new puzzles come up each night, sometimes it doesn't. Eventually it goes away. The longest it's ever been there continuously is 4 days, I think. Sorry that's not more helpful, but at least you know you're not alone.

Well, something must have happened at the Tanga end of things, as now (for 36 hours) I haven't seen any of those pesky error messages, AND I can view hypercross images again!
I tg'd tanga joe about this same thing in September, when I first started noticing it. (Also on Firefox, btw.)
He wrote back: "Sometimes when we are updating the site, you might see that error."

As of a few days ago, I’ve been getting this alert message when loading any Tanga page…
“CalendarDateSelect Error: Prototype could not be found. Please make sure that your application’s layout includes prototype.js (.g. <= javascript_include_tag :defaults >) before it includes calendar_date_select.js (.g. <= calendar_date_select_includes >).”
Anyone else – or is it just me (as usual)????
