I like an em-dash myself— use 'em allatime. (—type 'Alt-0151' to get one—)
...another nice one to know is 'Alt-255' - that's a tip from the early days of DOS when 'hiding' a filename. —but it's not as useful as an em-dash! ...then there's the elipsis! ...great...just great...

None of my favorites for casual typing are up there -- I like exclamation points, ellipses, and dashes!
